Rosamund Pike starrer fantasy series The Wheel Of Time  is heading to digital for the premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2021. Based on Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time fantasy novel series, the Amazon Studios series is all set for a 2021 release. The series that has already been greenlit for a second season, follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the powerful, all-woman organization of channelers (magic users) called the Aes Sedai, who takes a group of five young people from their home village following an attack by the forces of the Dark One, an evil entity who seeks to destroy the Pattern (Existence). Sonam Kapoor to make her digital debut; Blind opts for a direct to OTT release

With the current pandemic scenario, the digital renaissance has truly begun and some of the biggest names are jumping onto the OTT bandwagon. Paresh Rawal replaces Rishi Kapoor and resumes shoot for Sharmaji Namkeen

As the Maharashtra government announced some ease in lockdown restrictions, many films have resumed their shoots. Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film Sharmaji Namkeen has also gone on floors. Rishi played the central character in the movie and passed away on April 30, last year. His remaining portions of the film were taken over by veteran actor Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal started shooting for the remaining portions in March this year. However, with the second wave of the novel coronavirus, the shoot came to a halt again. According to a daily, Paresh Rawal has resumed the shoot for an important sequence at a school in Goregaon, Mumbai which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik. The team along with Paresh Rawal will shoot for a week-long schedule, after which the movie will wrap up and go for the post-production process. Naseeruddin Shah gets hospitalised

Senior actor Naseeruddin Shah who has enthralled the audiences with his performance over the decades was hospitalised two days back in Mumbai. Reportedly, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and there was a patch found in his lungs for which he is undergoing treatment currently. Naseeruddin Shah is currently under medical supervision. As per reports, his condition is stable, and is responding well to the treatment. Shah's wife and actor Ratna Pathak Shah and their kids are in the hospital with him. Dilip Kumar gets hospitalised for the second time in a month

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar who was recently discharged from the hospital has once again been hospitalised to the intensive care unit of a city hospital. He was taken to the hospital following a complaint of breathlessness as a precautionary measure, ten days after he was discharged. Reportedly, Dilip Kumar was hospitalised on June 29, Tuesday, in Hinduja Hospital's non-COVID facility. He is reportedly doing fine and is in the ICU so that doctors can monitor him. Kumar was earlier hospitalized in the same city hospital on June 6 after he complained of breathlessness. He was diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion a build-up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs and underwent a successful pleural aspiration procedure. Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s production venture Dongri To Dubai will chronicle the life of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book "Dongri to Dubai: Six Decades" of the Mumbai Mafia, has been constantly hitting the roadblock since the time the shooting began. Ranveer Singh and Bear Grylls set to collaborate for an action-packed adventure for Netflix 

In one of the biggest news this week, Ranveer Singh is heading to Netflix with a massive project that has come his way. The actor will collaborate with British adventurer Bear Grylls for an upcoming non-fiction show set at the streaming giant. A few days ago, a Hindi news website carried an interview of Shabbir Boxwala, who’s co-producing  Shershaah , the war drama starring Sidharth Malhotra. Nayanthara hasn’t said yes yet to Atlee’s Shah Rukh Khan starrer

There are reports all across the internet that Tamil superstar Nayanthara is making her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Tamil director Atlee’s first Hindi film. The film is supposedly titled  Sankee (meaning, obnoxious) and it is not a remake of a Tamil film but an original. So far so cool. High Court disposes of Kangana Ranaut’s passport renewal plea as application needs corrections 

The Bombay High Court on June 28 disposed of Kangana Ranaut's plea seeking to renew her passport after authorities told her application needs some corrections. The Passport Authority's counsel also assured that it would decide her application expeditiously. According to Live Law India, "A bench of Justices SS Shinde and Revati Mohite Dere specifically constituted to adjudicate the issue heard Kangana's petition. Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh for the Passport Authority submitted that Kangana's renewal application doesn't mention correct facts. He said only FIRs were pending against the actor, not 'criminal cases,' as wrongly stated by her in her passport application. The ASG further said that the Passport Authority is willing to consider her passport renewal application in accordance with the Passport Act/rules/ procedure, expeditiously, if her advocate was willing to make a statement in the regard." Boney Kapoor to remake Mammootty’s Malayalam film One in Hindi

Hindi remakes of South Indian films have become increasingly common in the last few years. Film producer Boney Kapoor recently acquired the rights to a popular Malayalam film that was released earlier this year. Kapoor has bought the rights to the political drama titled One starring Mammootty in the lead. Mammootty essayed the role of a Chief Minister in the movie directed by Santhosh Vishwanath. As per reports, the Hindi remake will see a huge and dependable star playing the role essayed by Mammooty. Meanwhile, Boney had also acquired the rights to the 2019 film Helen starring Anna Ben. He will start shooting for the film after wrapping up Ajay Devgn's Maidaan . He will also be backing the Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil film Comali lined up with his son Arjun Kapoor. Pearl V Puri breaks his silence on alleged rape accusation for first time, says he trusts the law and judiciary of the country 

In one of the shocking news, Television actor Pearl V Puri was arrested by Mumbai police for allegedly sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in 2019. The victim's family accused the actor of the alleged rape of a minor. The actor was arrested, sent to judicial custody for 14 days and released on bail two weeks ago. Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani project to roll from September 2021

Actor Shahrukh Khan is back on the sets of the film Pathan , co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, after a hiatus due to the lockdown. The film began shooting last year but due to several restrictions the shooting came to a halt in March end. The actor has an array of films in the pipeline including an upcoming project by Rajkumar Hirani which apparently stars Taapsee Pannu but it hasn’t been confirmed yet. According to a tabloid, the Rajkumar Hirani project will roll from September 2021 onwards and go on till January 2022. It seems like Taapsee Pannu has secured the female lead role. The entertaining comedy, set up against the backdrop of immigration, is written by Rajkumar Hirani and Kanika Dhillon. On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the film Pathan . Only 18 days to go for the release of Farhan Akhtar’s Toofaan and no signs of any promotions as yet

Farhan Akhtar has proved his worth not just as a director but also as an actor, producer and filmmaker. As an actor, his career got a boost with  Bhaag Milkha Bhaag  (2013), directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The biopic of Milkha Singh managed to collect more than Rs. 100 crores at the box office. Hence, when Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar joined hands once again for  Toofaan , it led to considerable excitement.
